Have you ever wondered what you can do with the very things you learned on your DTS? Maybe you already had the opportunity to put some things in action and live them out. That is great! But maybe you are in need of a tool kit with some practical ideas of how to use your passion to make this earth a better place. Than this is your time! You are about to take your first steps into leadership.
You will learn to take ownership of your strengths and wield the tools God has given you. You will learn to take action and initiative in pursuing your God-given gifts and calling, while studying and practicing leadership qualities such as humility, communication, integrity and project development.
It's time for you to purse growth and develop a platform of leadership that will propel you forward into the rest of your life.
The Discipleship Training School (DTS) seeks to bring you into a more intimate relationship with God. It also gives you an opportunity to discover your passions and your part in God’s purposes for the world. It is for those who long to follow Jesus in new ways with a different perspective.
The course is a full-time program and lasts five or six months. It consists of two parts: lecture phase and outreach phase. In the lecture phase, you will learn more about God and His world. You’ll learn not only from lectures but also from community living and practical training. The outreach phase focuses on applying what you learned in the classroom through an intense, cross-cultural experience.
DTS is the prerequisite for not only becoming YWAM staff, but also for YWAM’s second-level training.
Discover, Develop and Multiply your Leadership, while growing in Character and Relationship to God!!
A good leader is of good character. During the time here with YWAM Davos our emphasis of leadership training is not necessarily on lots of leadership skills and tools, but it targets your character and challenges you way of thinking. We are all leaders, as we are influencing people around us. We believe that good leadership training happens in an environment, where mistakes are allowed, grace is sufficient, honor amongst each other is valued and truth is spoken. Leadership is not about the right to rule over others but it is the privilege to serve each other for the greater good of the community.
We are exited to help you discover your leadership capability, your talents and gifting, your identity in God, as well as teaching you tools and skills to help you lead others well.
Leadership Building Blocks
Our Leadership Training Program is made out of different blocks, building on each other. There are two starting dates each year, one in Fall the other one in Spring. You can check for exact dates on our website www.ywamdavos.org. The first year is the Basic Leadership Training School (BLS). This school wraps around the DTS starting about three month after you started your leadership training. It is designed to help you discover your leadership, while staffing DTS. The second year builds strongly on the first year with a focus of developing your leadership (SALT). You will be given more responsibilities as a leader towards the DTS students as well as helping to BLS students to see their potential. The third year is all about multiplying your leadership (SPLD). Meanwhile you hopefully discovered more about who you are and what really excites you. We are passionate to help you during this year to develop your next step towards the start of a new ministry, school, YWAM Location or what ever. If you have a dream or a call from God to start something somewhere, we believe that a good preparation time as well as training are not wasted time but an important investment into the future. YWAM Davos is committed to help you out as much as we can.
Please complete the application form, and give a reference form to your pastor, a friend, and a teacher/employer or in case of staffing or doing a LTP to your former YWAM leader. The reference forms need to be sent directly from the reference to the registrar via email or postal service.
