After working with Ywam over the last 10 years there are only a handful of bases I will solidly recommend. The main reason for that is the leadership, style and culture which is intentionally created. Reto and Judy are amazing leaders who not only pour their lives into the mission there but have the heart to really connect to the local community and the schools they run. Davos has always been one of my favorite places to teach at for many reasons. These guys are cutting edge and are successfully extracting religion while making true disciples who understand a supernatural culture of honor. Revival starts in the family and the Gubler family is a demonstration of that truth.
The students that have spent time there have been radically transformed and many I know personally who are shaking things up with God years later. On top of it all Davos is one of the most beautiful places on earth !
    Aloha

When you come to YWAM Davos, you don't just join a school, you join a family. That is exactly the way that Reto and Judy will make you feel the second you meet them. Working and learning beside the two of them has been one of the biggest blessings of my life and I give them some credit in forming who I have become today. Everything about YWAM Davos is special. From the area it is in, the people who go there and to the power that god brings to that place. I won't forget about my time spent there until my time here on this earth is over. And if you do a SDTS here too, I know you will feel the same way I do.

In the 3years of knowing and working alongside Reto and Judy, I've had the pleasure to witness and to personally experience their love of Jesus and their love of people. I've also witnessed them as a family living out and being faithful to Gods great commission (Matthew 28:19).
A blessed family and a blessing to call them friends!

Being completely surrounded by the Swiss Alps, living life with people so passionate about loving others and the freestyle culture; I don't know a better setting than this to fall deeply in love with God.

Well, these guys, Reto and Judy, they are just over the top radical and crazy, ha, ha ok, a little bit more serious: Ywam Davos is a base that is still young and a pioneering base for Europan Snowboarding Discipleship-Schools. It is in the middle of the Alps and just right in the heart of the Snowboard-/Mountain-Scene. The staff leaders, Reto and Judy, have been such an example of having a heart for the scene and mountain towns. It's been a joy to watch them, walking out their vision, standing strong in what God called them to do and seeing so many lives being changed going though their schools. They allow the people to be free and dream, catch vision and run. What a joy it has been to pray, worship, fellowship and share meals with them, people who sacrifice life to see others find and walk out their destiny.

Reto and Judy are one of the finest couples I know. They lead with a true passion for Jesus, their staff and students. They have an amazing vision for impacting the shred culture. On the base they have created an atmosphere of love, freedom and honor. Which is empowering their staff and students to be powerful people. The base in Davos is awesome, they have their own little park in the back yard, and only a few minutes to walk to the closest gondola station. The riding on the different mountains around Davos is rad! Both park and free riding. As far as I am concerned this is a perfect place to serve Jesus, change the world and get some good riding in.

My name is Travis Brummett, and I completed my DTS at YWAM Davos in 2008/2009. I can honestly say that these 6 months were some of the best times of my life. Reto and Judy treat every student and leader that come through their base as if they were their own children. They were so encouraging in guiding me along in my walk with the Lord. They have successfully created a DTS which allows students and leaders the room to grow in relationship with God and new friends. I still have relationships with many of my fellow YWAM-ers, as well as with Reto and Judy, and I plan on visiting them in Switzerland during my honeymoon this coming October. I have been so blessed to watch these two love each other and the Lord so much, and share that love with others. My life was changed during those short 6 months, and I have never been the same since.

A good leader is of good character. During the time here with YWAM Davos our emphasis of leadership training is not necessarily on lots of leadership skills and tools, but it targets your character and challenges you way of thinking. We are all leaders, as we are influencing people around us.

We believe that good leadership training happens in an environment, where mistakes are allowed, grace is sufficient, honor amongst each other is valued and truth is spoken. Leadership is not about the right to rule over others but it is the privilege to serve each other for the greater good of the community.

We are exited to help you discover your leadership capability, your talents and gifting, your identity in God, as well as teaching you tools and skills to help you lead others well.

The first year is the Basic Leadership Training School. This school wraps around the DTS starting about three month after you started your leadership training. It is designed to help you discover your leadership, while staffing DTS.

The second year builds strongly on the first year with a focus of developing your leadership. You will be given more responsibilities as a leader towards the DTS students as well as helping to BLS students to see their potential.

The third year is all about multiplying your leadership. Meanwhile you hopefully discovered more about who you are and what really excites you. We are passionate to help you during this year to develop your next step towards the start of a new ministry, school, YWAM Location or what ever.

If you have a dream or a call from God to start something somewhere, we believe that a good preparation time, as well as training, are not wasted time but an important investment into the future. YWAM Davos is committed to help you out as much as we can.

Opportunities to get involved

Here is a variety of staff needs we have. It is not an exlusive list, rather than just the bigger needs we currently have. The different opportunities can be mixed up and combined with other things. Our goal is always to but people into an area of responsibility according to their talents and skills.

  • School Staff

    School Staff

To run our two DTS we need devoted people to help the students to get everything out of their DTS experience. A good DTS team is made out off people with different characters and skills. We need people able to lead a work duty team, help organise events, prepare the outreaches, do one-on-one mentorship as well as leading a small group, lead worship and intercession times and much more.
If you have never staffed a DTS we run our Leadership Training School to equip our staff as good as possible.
  • Administrator

    Administrator

Running a YWAM Center is a lot of work. It is more than hangig out with people, cooking and cleaning. We are trying to keep the administrational part as small as possible, yet it still needs to be done. The future students need a quick respond on their questions, maintaining contact with donors, parents and other people is important and the book keeping needs to be done in a proper way. We would higly appreciate your help in this area!
  • Communicator

    Communicator

People need to know about us and what we have to offer. We are looking for someone who loves to communicate through different kinds off media like writing newsletters, updating our web sites, blogging, keeping our Facebook up to date, creating videos of testimonies or promotional movies for our schools and ministry. If you love stuff like that, your help would be highly appreciated.
  • Cook

    Cook

Good and healthy food is one of the keys of having happy people around. So far we have been doing the cooking with our staff and students. It works and is often a good learning process, but sometimes the result isn't the best. We would also love to have someone doing the logistics of food management, menu plans and shopping. Due to visa restrictions we need to be able to give you a work visa. Currently we can only do that if you have a european passport.
  • Coffee Shop

    Coffee Shop

We have a beautiful little coffee called Kafi Mühle. It offers around 30 seats with a small patio with some extra tables. Our idea is to have it open in the mornings from 9-11am and in the afternoon from 2-5pm to create a place where people love to hang out, sip on a great cup of coffee with a wonderful little brownie. Creating an atmosphere of love and trust is key. There are a whole lot of ideas. If you have some too, we would love your input.
